Town Budget for 2025

The Department Heads presented their Budget Proposals at Workshops on September 4th and September 11th . Supervisor Deer presented the Tentative Budget to Clerk Grevelding on September 25th . The Board voted to override the NYS tax cap on September 25th. Fire Protection District Budgets [about one quarter of the total budget] Public Hearings will be held October 9th .

There will be a Public Hearing on the Preliminary Budget November 6th .

Reserve Fund

The Town voted to create a Building Reserve Fund to save up some money to offset anticipated costs of renovating the existing Town Hall or building a new one.

Quarry Commission

The Town selected Gerry Gould https://sites.google.com/gouldgw.com/gggpc/credentials to join the
Quarry Commission to help monitor and evaluate the impact of quarry operations on neighboring homes.

The Town also approved a contract for a vibration monitoring devise that will be funded by Onondaga County. Kinsella Quarries is purchasing a companion monitoring device.

Zone Change

After several months of discussion with the impacted parties, the Town authorized a zone change for the final building at Seven Pines on Cazenovia Road in Manlius.

Tax Certiorari

The Town accepted property tax settlements with two commercial properties. This means that the owners had sued to change their assessment, and that these suits were settled with both parties agreeing to an assessment amount that will be fixed for three years.

Staff Member Changes

The Board recognized Deputy Clerk Debi Witzel, who served the Town for 18 years, upon her retirement. We welcome Duffy Hartnett, Assistant to the Supervisor and Paul Jackson, Deputy Clerk.
