Climate Smart Zoning Project
The Comprehensive Plan recommended that the Town update its zoning code. Sara Bollinger wrote a grant application to NYS in 2023 that was not selected for funding. She applied again in July 2024, and the Town was approved for funding. It has taken this long to contract with New York State, develop an RFP, review bids and select a contractor. The Town engaged Colliers Engineering and Design to facilitate the zoning update process. There will be opportunities for the community to have input. The project will kick off this winter and is expected to take about 18 months to complete.
Enders Road Sidewalk
Three more steps in the process! NYS has released the application for the Transportation Alternatives Program, know as TAP. This is the funding the Town plans to use to pay for the 6000 feet of sidewalk that is needed. The Town hired Millenium Strategies to help write the grant application. The Town has engaged the Labella Survey team to delineate the road and identify where easements may be needed. The Town has an application pending with the NYS Comptroller to form the sidewalk district.
