Accessory Dwelling Units
A public hearing was held August 14th and held open to August 28th regarding a proposed local law to permit Accessory Dwelling Units (ADU) in neighborhoods zoned Residential. There were a number of comments from residents and advocates. CNY Fair Housing brought a film crew to help with a documentary they are making about zoning. The Board voted to approve the ADU local law.

Water Environment Protection Presentation
Thanks to Councilors McCurdy and Nesci, both of whom live in the impacted neighborhood, the Town hosted a public information meeting with Shannon Hardy, Commissioner of WEP. She presented important information about how the wastewater treatment plant works, and why it overflows when there is heavy rain. https://www.townofmanlius.org/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=633

Professional Services
Agreements were approved with LaBella Associates [Engineering] and Schopfer Architects [Highway Garage project].

Proclamations
I omitted reference to the Inclusion of People with Disabilities Proclamation read at the July 24 th meeting in my notes last month. The Town also recognized Pakistan Independence Day.

Lend a Hand
The Manlius Police Department gave a presentation about a program to identify people with special needs and provide advance training for officers who will interact with the individuals and their support networks. If you know someone who might benefit from this program, please contact Captain Stanton at the TMPD.

Quarry Commission
The Town is seeking a couple people with scientific skills to join the new Quarry Commission to help monitor and evaluate the impact of quarry operations on neighboring homes.

Communication
The presentation about Town Communication was rescheduled to 5PM on September 25 th
